This was a really beautiful read. It's very short, written intentionally to be read in one sitting. It tells the story of an elderly lady presently in Australia 2023, and when she was five and being removed from her village in Palestine in 1948. And the parallels of what has and hasn't changed in 75 years. Very poignant. Almost poetic. Definitely essential reading to help understand our current times.

Everyone should read this. Like, now.

Book two, "Perelandra", done. I would've finished it a few nights ago, but I kept dozing off (not for lack of interest!).

I'm out and don't have access to my current tome. So on to the ereader!

Had this on my list, but another friend just recommended it to me, so I may have to bump it up!

Just finished the first book: "Out of the Silent Planet" I'm very much enjoying this so far!

Read this for the first time today. Genuinely cried my eyes out at the end. And what has changed in the seventy years since its publication!? Nothing! Capitalism is monstrous.
