Lovely writing. I found parts of the plot hard to connect together. The scenes sometimes felt quite disparate. I was reading this slowly over a number of months, I think this book would be better enjoyed of read over a shorter time span.

Took me a long to time you get into this book. I felt the historical story and modem story arches were connected, but not tightly coupled in a way that made me care about them. So it felt like two stories in one book.

I enjoyed the book, but found the end unsatisfying.

I enjoyed it, but was put off with the amount of repetition. It feels to me that Mr Goodkind hammers you with a theme, there is no room for the reader to be in doubt about these things. By contrast other authors leaving me speculating about the hidden layers in their work, which I find much more satisfying.

Very enjoyable. This book moves at a slow pace, with a very long build. This allows the characters to be full bodied, and allows the world to be believable.
