TOdo el mundo debería leer este libro

La verdad es que no se muy bien que decir, más allá de que con este libro he aprendido muchas cosas y que eso solo puede ser bueno

Esta trilogía se me ha hecho muy confusa en general. Igual es por haber vivido un internet muy real y diferente de la imaginaria matriz de estos libros pero en general me ha costado mucho entender lo que contaban (no se si lo he conseguido). Tienen cosas buenas, el worldbuilding es la hostia, pero joder, son complicados de seguir

La parte más "mainstream" del libro, la referente a la historia de la tecnología libre, el empleo de las redes como catalizador del ascenso de la extrema derecha populista, me parece menos interesante (en parte porque varias de las fuentes que emplea, como la columna de Cory Doctorow, me son conocidas). Otras partes, como la intersección entre transfeminismo, tecnología y una suerte de movimiento transhumanista o biohacker me han parecido más interesantes/innovadoras?, pero creo que las recorre con una cierta brevedad - igual por salirse un poco del tema del libro -.

No obstante, el libro se hace ameno, explica cosas, a mi juicio, relevantes para la sociedad actual, que no son tan conocidas y está excelentemente documentado.

For a while, this was the most disheartening book i've read. It almost convinced me that some experiences from my past had left me almost beyond repair. Fortunately the last few chapter reignited my hope in it being reversible.

Aside from that, I found the overall book well argued and certain parts, like his discussion on game theory and its applications toward altruism and social cooperation truly fascinating

[ENG] The economics here are a bit outdated, that's why they have been updated by some contemporary authors, but the politics here are absolutely correct. Proudhon discovered the key to human political organisation in his federative principle.Death to the state! Long live the federation!

July 15, 2024 [ESP] Se me ha hecho más complicado de leer que su primera parte, sobre todo porque añade otra capa de complejidad añadiendo más puntos de vista. Supongo que sí lo hubiera seguido mejor me hubiera gustado más. Leeré el tercero aún así.

[ENG] I found this one more difficult to read than the first part, mostly due to the extra layer of complexity added by there being several POV. I guess I'd have liked it more ihad ai been able to follow it better. I'll read the third one nonetheless

[ESP] Es bastante interesante, aunque se pueda haber quedado un poco atrasado en su análisis de los chatbots, pues chatGPT es posterior a este libro.

Me ha parecido muy interesante el concepto de que la inteligencia va estrechamente ligada a la capacidad de "ejecutar" simulaciones en nuestro cerebro sobre sucesos que podrían ocurrir.

Como punto más negativo, me parece que es poco crítica ideas bastante estúpidas, como la singularidad, la superinteligencia y la ley de rendimientos crecientes.

[ENG] Pretty interesting book, even though it's now a little oudated in it's analysis of chatbots, since it came out before chatGPT.

I found the idea that intelligence is related to the ability to "run" simulations of possible events in out brain very interesting.

The most negative point to me is that it's not that critical with truly idiotic ideas like the singularity, superintelligence and the law of incrementing returns.

[ENG] It's easy to grasp why this book is so important, even though in certain aspects it's understandably outdated, as Gibson himself notes in the prologue.

The book is somewhat difficult to follow, but has some fascinating parts in how well he describes the electronics heavy world he built
