Easy and fast read, in the wake of #1. Not much happening in this one, more setting for later I guess, but still enjoyable. :-)

François finished reading Cannery Row (Steinbeck "Essentials") by John Steinbeck
Excellent. I love Steinbeck's descriptive writing,it's almost like watching a movie. Moreover I happen to know the region where the action is set (Salinas, Monterey, etc) so I can really "see" it. Very recommended.

Not a good book. The mystery is ok but it's badly written. There are many good books out there. This is not one of them. Don't waste your time. Or I am not in the target audience. Whatever.

François finished reading Shipstar by Gregory Benford
As much as the first book was captivating, this one feels disappointing. It's like taking a book to describe the problem and then give the answer in a couple of lines. Must read if you have read the Bowl, but.... Or maybe it's just me :-)
