David Gemmell: Dark Moon

Like greeting an old friend

This is the first David Gemmell I've read in over a decade, after enjoying the Troy series finished by his wife after his untimely passing.

It's not a new novel, but somehow I missed it in earlier searches for something, anything of his to read.

It's comforting and comfortable to read a Gemmell novel of fallen heroes and redeemed villains and powerful innocents. And while there is nothing unique or revolutionary here, it's still a fun and enjoyable ride for those of us who love Gemmell's characters.

China Miéville: The City & the City (Paperback, 2011, imusti, Pan Publishing)

It's a novel that starts off right in the centre of the "gimmick" and doesn't hand hold. My YouTube-addled brain isn't coping with it well because I'm having difficulty understanding what the protagonist is experiencing. I'm going to keep going and see if it improves.
