I have to say... from the son of the currently reigning King of Horror...this is fantastic, and you can hear echoes of his father all throughout, while the story takes off, and Joe Hill manages to create an entirely realistic world of his own. Who's to say that science won't one day turn up a spore that lights people on fire? With the way our society and our world is going... it could happen. Either way, take Joe's fictional account in the beautiful territory of New England as a warning... This world does not want to end up like that.

If you love enemies to lovers romance novels, then you will love this series; indeed it is about the fantasy (one of the best takes on vampirism ever, if you ask me), but also the author doesn't neglect the humanitarian side of the coin; nearly every page has the main character questioning her choices; Poppy is intelligent, beautiful, and confident... all traits in female characters that I absolutely adore.

When Celaena finally decides to understand who she's becoming and who she potentially could be; as nasty as the events that occur in this novel are, and how horribly they nearly warp one woman beyond recognition, they are needed for the future.

Some bundles of these books would seek to put this book last in the list of the seven novels. In my humble opinion, it ought to be put first... because this content is what makes the reader aware of many of the references that Celaena makes in later novels. Without it, you will easily get confused.

I think that King went out on a huge limb here... and boy am I glad he did. This story, like the Shining, It, and the Institute before it, show the magnificent theme of "kid power" that Stephen is so good at. charlie Reade was no exception. I think that if he were a real person, I would want to get to know him, and I would probably hang out with him on a regular basis. Either way, if you want a book that's emotional as it is rivetting, then King does it again. It does have some of his normal horror, but this one gives the reader a bit of a break from that, where we see the more fantastical side of this wonderful and legendary author.

This book is a great effort in teaching a fun language, and even though I'm not actually planning on finishing, I give them five stars for effort. The issue, and it's the only issue I had with it is the format I got; all of the code examples are done via graphics, which isn't good for somebody who is visually impaired trying to learn.

It's impossible to tell in today's insane society, and considering I did indeed love this book, but I still can't help thinking that the author sees conspiracies everywhere she turns. Her entire book's premise seems to be that technology is the issue that is plaguing our society, and that it could be mitigated by getting rid of all of our computers and returning to a pen-and-paper society. Society would still have it's problems, even then. Needless to say, I am going to read her other books. I still like her tone, in general.

This is a very interesting piece of mythology. It took me a while honestly to get into it, which is odd, but I think that's because of my lack of education in African myths; while I love studying the world's religions, this is not one that's come up.

One of the best books on the history of the internet written in this century. It begins with the important histories of the '90's, and then moves onto the latter eras that have so far shaped our poor excuse for an information highway. But it offers hope, all at the same time.

One of the most in depth accounts of one of the most remarkable leaders of all time. While highly detailed, yet also highly readable, this book paints a very interesting picture of one of the most possibly infamous leaders in history aside from adolf Hitler, depending on how you look at history and which side you're on.

Hirohito was one of the most provocative and influential people of his time, and while he attempted somewhat to move his country forward, or at least he wanted to, this book demonstrates how he was stopped at every turn while trying to do so. He could have been more well-liked than we was is he hadn't been forced into starting a war that his people never should have had any reason to participate in.

I have read a lot of fantasy series in my life... and so far, this has been the best; this first book will have you flowing right into the second one as soon as you finish it. By the end, you have the most magnificent pile of developing characters, and everyone wants to know more. Page turner to the last.
