Having read only one Arthur Conan Doyle story (A Study in Scarlet) I'm not overly familiar with the canon or style of his writing. I have recently become interested in reading his works after watching the first three seasons of the BBC's Sherlock. When I came across this audiobook at the library and saw that it was read by Benedict Cumberbatch, I snapped it up. It was a good diversion to listen to it while doing mundane chores around the house. I didn't have to concentrate too much on the plots of the four short stories, and could simply enjoy the sound of Benedict's voice and the many accents he adopts while reading them. The stories themselves are okay-to-good, and seem to me in keeping with ACD's style. I look forward to reading more of the "real thing".
