How is it going? I like to read books that will help me create less suffering in this world. That can be biographies to find inspiration, fiction to get away from reality for a bit, educational so I can teach others about hard topics. If I follow or engage with you it's because I like what you read or review.

People's Guide to Abolition and Disability Justice (2024, PM Press) 5 stars

A necessary read

5 stars

I give this book 5 stars because of how informational it was. The author makes it very clear at the start how nuanced all of the information is. I went into the book with an open heart and mind. Having an able-body I’m very ignorant about the lives of people with disabilities. I haven’t gone to prison myself so I have no experience nor knowledge on how the prison system works. Going into it ignorantly this way, I found myself understanding what the author was saying. The Virgo in me appreciates the organization the books offers. They are split into chapters each going into different examples supporting the claims of various subjects that mean a lot to me. Most importantly, it connected two major concepts for me. The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love (2003) 5 stars

I am a better man after reading this book

5 stars

For most of my life, I learned and was taught about feminism. The only masculinity I ever knew about was toxic masculinity. It was refreshing to read a book about masculinity. This book is a journey that emphasizes the need to love masculinity and men. The book is fairly simple to read and understand. In fact, I had a lot of people ask me what book I’m reading and as I talked about why I’m reading it, other males were intrigued. This was my first bell hooks book that I have ever read and I’m happy it was my first. The content I read is going to help me further reach full freedom. I would recommend it to any male but also any females who are trapped under patriarchy. There’s no bibliography.

I didn't read the last part of it because I wasn't very interested. I don't think it was necessary for me to read it based on the structure of the book. I was primarily interested in the energies Saturns gives off based on signs/houses and not the transits.

Just thought I'd have a book that I don't have to annotate. This is going to be the book I will read before I sleep or when I'm on the train.
