Almost as good as the first

I don't think it is merely familiarity with the film that prompts me to rate this lower than the first book. A few times this book seems derivative, as if trying slightly too hard to replicate the elements of the first. However, it's still delightful and absurd, and like the first book, leaves Mary Poppins a very mysterious and delightful character indeed.

This book is fun!

This book is fun! It's clearly setting down a formula, but doesn't spend so long in any one corner to drag. It's loose and wild in the best ways, and I look forward to reading more in the series. I guess there could be 26 books given the theme!
