Very clever to make this novel an epistolary one, so that all the writers have to abide by the absurd lexical rules imposed by the Council as the book progresses. While it's possible to read this book as a straight-up adventure, you'd have to work hard to ignore the symbolism about the rise of authoritarianism.

Quite a rushed ending. Not a bad book, but if I remember it at all it’ll be as a pulp paperback with odd pacing and continuity.
