Charles Stross: The annihilation score (2015)

"Mo's latest assignment is to assist the police in containing an unusual outbreak: ordinary citizens …

nice laundry title in the series

(still don't know if i'm going to keep goodreads ratings, but globally “i really liked it”)

impossible to miss the narrator change from Bob to Mo. of course, all the compsci nerdiness is gone. i was not sure i was getting all the nerd jokes anyway

i wasn't completely surprised by the plot resolution but it was nicely brought. anyway i prefer obvious ending well written than some deus-ex-lapina out of a hat to try to woo the reader

Maxime Chattam: Le Signal (Paperback, 2018, ALBIN MICHEL)

Avis sur 'Le Signal' importé depuis 'Goodreads'

Un thriller/horreur sympathique avec des relents de Stephen King et une touche de Lovecraft.

À part quelques personnages creux ou inconsistants, une agréable lecture, bien effroyable.

Catriona Ward: The Last House on Needless Street (Hardcover, 2021, Viper)

hard to enter the Last House on Needless Street but worth it

disorienting at first, each chapter has a different narrator, and they are weird. when the plot develops, it gets easier to read. and the weird is good.

some plot points are easy to discover ahead of the narration but still brilliant
