I got what I wanted out of this, a fun and interesting sci-fi read. I think if my personal sense of humour was more aligned to this style I would have enjoyed it more. I did like the dialogue heavy style, it made it quick to get through for a relatively slow reader like me. So I would definitely recommend this to people who aren't big readers and/or people who want to try sci-fi that isn't super dense.

There's not a lot of plot really until right near the end, but it's foreshadowed well and the book isn't really about that anyway. There's a lot of time spent on worldbuilding and I think that made it feel more realistic. Loved the casual rep which I had no idea about before going in and was pleasantly surprised by. Lots of creative ideas in here too so I'm keen to check out this author's other works.
