Ishiguro explores what it means to have a soul and how art distinguishes man from other life forms. But above all, Never Let Me Go is a study of friendship and the bonds we form which make or break while we come of age.

My Bookcrossing review from March 13, 2007:

A haunting read - it's been a while since I read it and I have placenta brain so I can't remember anything else to say about it unfortunately. I felt much the same as the previous reader in that I found it tedious to begin with but quite insightful when I finished.
