This book is not a paperback-- it's a pamphlet. Sonia Davis was a key figure in HPL's life - she was his only wife. The present edition presents her uncensored recollections of her life with Lovecraft, memoirs which had previously been edited for content. For the die hard Lovecraft fan, this book is a must. For those who simply want to read his tales, there's little value here. In any event, there's very little presented here which isn't available or suggested elsewhere. A good volume to own if you want essential texts on Lovecraft's personal life, but otherwise, you may feel you've spent money for something that doesn't hold any new revelations.

Charming memoir by Lovecraft's fascinating and motivated former wife. Looking forward to reading more about Sonia later this year in Monica Wasserman's "Two Hearts That Beat as One".

This short work and her interactions with HPL reminded me greatly of Novalyne Price Ellis's accounts of HER relationship with HPL's pal Robert E. Howard in "One Who Walked Alone". There's probably a good play in there of the two women meeting over drinks and chatting about the difficult men in their lives.
