A Fantastic Modern Work of Critical Theory

This book is an incredible work of critical theory, following the path of Black women and their use of technology through the centuries to contextualize modern digital Black feminism and explore it's intellectual contours. Very few works of critical theory are as well grounded in historical and empirical research, with Knight Steele providing copious citations. Beyond that, the analogy of the digital sphere to the beauty shop is compelling, as is the interrogation of the commercialization of the space. There are also some laugh out loud zingers peppered throughout the text. Highly recommend
