A Focused Collection
5 stars
This is an excellent collection of academic writings that review various aspects of the Dutch and English East India Companies' operations across Asia from business, diplomatic, and ethical perspectives. While some of this contrasts these organizations, others focus on a single one to dive into a particular issue. The only thing missing for me was a chapter detailing the internal workings of these firms, but given the geographic focus of the volume I understand the omission. Highly recommend
