Ben Waber reviewed The Gift of Global Talent by William R. Kerr
A Standard Introduction
3 stars
This book is a good introduction to the positive effects of highly valued talent immigration for companies, countries, and universities. Kerr does a good job covering the evidence in this area, peppering academic studies in with the case studies illustrating larger points. Unfortunately there's not much deeper analysis here, with no interrogation of issues such as the implications of valuing some immigrants above others, the costs of imposing English as a lingua franca, etc. Still, if you're unfamiliar with the literature in this space this will give you a good grounding on the main benefits these immigrants bring
