Catherine Lucille Moore, better known under the pen-names of "C.L. Moore" and "Catherine Kuttner", was an American author of fantasy, science-fiction, and westerns. The first prominent female author of American speculative fiction in the 20th century, she is mainly known for her planetary romance anti-hero Northwest Smith (at times labelled as a direct precursor for Han Solo), and the very first female heroine in adventure fantasy, Jirel of Joiry. Much of her later works are co-authored with her husband Henry Kuttner.
