I really enjoyed this book

what I liked most about the book is that there are so many different, fresh ideas in it. I loved the way the different societies are described and the non-human sentient creatures plus flora and fauna of New-Half-Way Tree. Also pretty cool that it is written in caribbean patois and that I learned something about caribbean culture e.g. the traditional carnival and its characters.

Also the story of Tan-Tan (the main character) is very intriguing and in many places it is unpredictable what will happen next.

there were so many fresh ideas in this book and I really enjoyed Binti's perspective, and how the main "superpower" is understanding one another.

ok so I really liked this book in the beginning, but the authors repeat the main talking points over and over, which was a little tiresome. still, it had a lot of eye-openers and I liked the general direction, idea & tone of it.

I am not a great fan of lumping everything one fights against into one big thing and calling it Empire... I think most thoughts in the book would have gained some clarity if it had called capitalism, racism, patriarchy, etc. by their name.
