4 stars from me, not so much for the story but for the extraordinary illustrations and the concept of exploring how art is made. The text is completely made up of dialogue between the two characters, which can be hard to do justice to when reading a story out loud to young children. You have to be good at doing voices!

I picked this book with a bunch of others at the library to read to my daughter, purely based on the cover art, not knowing how relevant and meaningful it would be to her at the moment. Being about a little otter who can't swim and is afraid of jumping into the deep water, it was perfect for my daughter who is currently struggling with swimming lessons. Hopefully the message will help her to overcome her fears little by little...
