Sep 7, 2017: Finally got my hands on a copy and read it in a week, which is pretty fast for me these days. I really like the concept of this story, and it might make a good movie with Anthony McCarten as screenwriter. I just wasn't bowled over by the book as I was hoping to be after all the rave reviews. It had its moments, but it also had its problems. I don't wish to pick it apart, it was enjoyable enough.

Finally finished this series! It's great, but I feel like I've been reading it for years. We can move onto something different now!

Review of 'Essays in Love' on 'Goodreads'

3.5 stars. I have to admit this one was a bit beyond me, it was hard work for a novel; often I'd have to read the same paragraph a couple of times to parse it. Although I think I got more out of the philosophical ramblings than the story in the end. The characters are pretty annoying.
