Such a fun read

If you like SiFi at all, you'll love this book. Lots of sharp lines that cause you to laugh out loud. Some good call backs to popular culture and just a fun read all round. The characters are pretty well fleshed out and there is some good plot and action.

Awesome finish to this trilogy

Love how this tale wraps up. Good twists, settling of important plot lines, answering the question of how in the hell things are going to get resolved.

Excellent middle trilogy book

Don't start this one without first finishing the first one. Continuation of the great characters and some new ones introduced that can more than hold their own.

Space opera!

Love the characters in this one, especially the kick ass potty mouthed female ones :) Story has a great slow build until the reveals and sets things up nicely for the next book in the trilogy.

Who dunnit crossed with the matrix

Lovely idea to have people who have to live their lives in a "matrix" style virtual world or drive around the read world in humanoid robots. Great story writing to have a who dunnit with lots of action and great characters.

Excellent world building scifi

It doesn't have the mind fuck moment of The Matrix, but it does pull the rug out from under you some way through the book. Love the switch up, the characters, and the plot lines that work their way through the book. Sets things up nicely for any subsequent novels.

reviewed Zoe’s Tale by John Scalzi (Old Man’s War #4)

John Scalzi: Zoe’s Tale (2012, Tor Books)

Great different point of view of existing story line

I like how John took the plot we all read in the previous book and fleshed it out so well. Great to get a different viewpoint and to see all the behind the scenes machinations that were glossed over in the second book.

Expanding the old mans universe

Great tale that builds on the excellent start of Old Man's War. New characters are well defined and existing ones get some fleshing out.

Awesome entry into the universe

My only complaint about this book was that it was too short. I'm now going back to reread the entire series. Wonderful characters as always, excellent plot and dialogue, great ending to wrap things up. If you haven't experienced this universe, pick up a copy of "Old Man's War". It's the first book in the series and very approachable and fun to read.
