Game theory and business seem to be uncomfortable bedfellows … Sinek tries to show that there is a different and better mindset for running our companies. I've worked in businesses that are more than 170 years old … rather than looking for quick returns with short-term thinking, we should be making decisions that help the business survive for another 170 years.

As Michelle quipped, this is the second romance I've read this year (the first of course being Goodbye Newsroom).

Train Guy is a light enough read, but there are good characters well-drawn, a believable story and (for me) some very recognisable locales. Simple maybe, but its simplicity is charming.

It's not so much that these mental models are new, but this is the first time I've seen them put together in an easy-to-access collection that explains them simply and presents them as a toolbox for everyday use, rather than esoteric precepts that are beyond our ken … more power to our thinking!
