Cliché-filled softcore trauma porn for redditors

2 stars

It just read as a low-effort pamphlet that mistakes echoing popular internet consensus for actual writing. It tried unsuccessfully to show how the online world changes your real-life world and attitudes/values, but spends most of its brief page count on softcore porn and crowd-pleasing platitudes about technology and society in the 2020s.

I read this book because I saw a news article saying it was thought provoking about modern technology, but it largely came off like a modern Black Mirror episode with a very basic "technology bad" theme. Also there is a incidence of sexual assault which stood out compared to the other events discussed in the book. I see how that could potentially upsetting.
