Maybe not the most incredible mystery, but an easy read and plenty of intrigue. The book balances and blends the mystery and the school life aspects really well. There was a bit of creepiness but it's definitely more of a mystery than a horror or thriller.
TW: the book does have a semi-focus on suicide, and there are also brief mentions of domestic family violence though very minor
